The adjustable back was a feature I did not expect but it was very comfortable. The sunshade was also quite adjustable so it made sense as opposed to an ungainly umbrella. Was a rather difficult learning process to strap the thing to my back, still haven’t felt comfortable doing that but it’s lightweight so can easily be just carried.

The GCI Outdoor Waterside SunShade Backpack Beach Chair is a sturdy, high quality, and more or less portable beach chair, best suited for those who prefer to bring the comforts of home with them into the wild, and don’t mind a little extra hassle to get it there – glampers, this one’s for you.
Limitations
Cons: 1) Unlike my previous beach chair this had no insulated cooler for drink cans, though the drawstring bag attached to the frame is large enough to take one. 2) The drawstring does not completely close the bag so loose objects – sunglasses, keys, sunscreen etc fall out if the chair is upended – as it will be when you open it on the beach or stow it in the trunk. 3) Again unlikely previous model, the chair frame cuts painfully and awkwardly across the lower back when the loaded chair is carried as a backpack.
While we did not have any issues there are some reviewers who complained the back would not stay in position and broke.
Where the GCI Beach Chair excels in comfort, it falls a bit short in the category of convenience. To its credit, the chair does fold down rather flat and has backpack straps, but it is still quite heavy and bulky which makes it a bit of a chore to lug to and from the beach.
Chair is good and does keep hard and hot sun off you but the armrest is a little flimsy.
Could have better shoulder straps, but function just fine if the walk to the beach not too far.
